Green Visionary Artistry: Palette for the Planet – Painting Our Environmental Story – Pilisborosjenő (Hungary)
Between September 6 and 7, 2025, FAJUB took part in the third international meeting of the European project Green Visionary Artistry – A Tapestry of Environmental Expression, in Pilisborosjenő, Hungary. The experience brought together a delegation of 14 participants from eight countries and once again demonstrated the power of art as a catalyst for environmental awareness, intercultural dialogue, and the strengthening of ties between partners and local communities.
The Palette for the Planet – Painting Our Environmental Story program took place at Nappali Kavezo, which also hosts a work by Jonathan Ouisse, creating an inspiring setting for the following activities. Our team engaged in experiences that combined creativity, environmental reflection, and community interaction. Highlights included the photo manipulation workshop “Your Face for Nature”, led by Csíkszentmihályi Réka, and the Science Café PLUS, which addressed the responsibility of artists in the face of the climate crisis, with contributions from Fanni Sall (Hungary), Jonathan Ouisse (France), Atsushi Kuwayama (Japan), and Dr. Zoltán Kőváry (Hungary), moderated by Ildima Nevelős-Forgács. The discussion focused on how to balance motivation and hope when artistically representing environmental reality.
The final day was dedicated to Studio Visits, where we had the opportunity to discover the work of local artists: Tamás Fodor & Ilona Németh (puppet makers), Tamás Léderer (sculptor), Zoltán Takács (blacksmith), and Árpád Takács (carpentry and cooking). These encounters offered a close look at how the community shapes artistic expression while art, in turn, strengthens the local social fabric. The dedication of these people to preserving traditions, arts, and crafts was especially inspiring—made even more so by witnessing people of all ages nurturing their connection to community and nature.
For FAJUB, this meeting was much more than a series of activities: it consolidated European partnerships, highlighted the transformative impact of art on the community, and reinforced the importance of creativity as a tool for environmental awareness and action.
