From 20 to 23 November 2025, FAJUB took part in the fourth international meeting of the European project Green Visionary Artistry: A Tapestry of Environmental Expression, held in Murcia. The event brought together participants from Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus and Italy, focusing exclusively on the role of music and participatory cultural expressions as tools to promote sustainability and dialogue between communities.
The programme began with a walking route through Murcia’s historic centre, allowing participants to discover the city’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. This walk offered an in-depth perspective on the multiple historical layers that shape the local identity and served as a starting point to understand how the city integrates culture and environmental awareness.
The Cultural Gastrobotany Route at El Huertanico (The Garden of the Senses) led participants to explore the relationship between regional gastronomy, botany and sustainable practices, revealing the importance of Murcian cuisine in preserving the territory and valuing local resources.
The central moment of the meeting was the Green Art Festival, entirely dedicated to music and participatory expressions involving the community. The festival included concerts, street theatre, a participatory voice and percussion workshop, a graffiti workshop, as well as sports activities and games for families. These moments showcased how music can communicate ecological values, bring generations together and transform public spaces into platforms for creativity and environmental awareness.
The event was hosted by ASOCIACIÓN CREACIA, a Murcian organisation that uses art as a tool for social and environmental development. CREACIA’s vision reinforced the importance of creativity for personal, emotional and professional growth, as well as for building more resilient and environmentally conscious communities.
For FAJUB, Rhythms of Murcia represented an opportunity to strengthen European networks, deepen artistic practices linked to sustainability, and develop new forms of cooperation with cultural organisations from different countries.
